The True Cost of Christmas—Debt, Stress, and Babylon’s Material Trap

Title: “The True Cost of Christmas—Debt, Stress, and Babylon’s Material Trap”

Introduction – Unwrapping the Cost of Christmas

🎁 For most people, Christmas is the season of giving—but what’s the real cost behind the gifts, decorations, and traditions?

Every year, billions are spent on presents, travel, and food, yet studies show stress, anxiety, and depression peak during this same season. (Ecclesiastes 1:2–3)

What if the modern holiday season isn’t about joy and peace at all—but instead mirrors Babylon’s system of idolatry and financial enslavement? (Jeremiah 10:2–4)

This article uses the ANIMA Framework to analyze the biological, psychological, and spiritual toll of Christmas, exposing how consumerism and materialism have replaced contentment and truth.

Philippians 4:11–13“I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.”

Qualia – Spiritual Renewal

Quantitia – Alternative Practices

Reflection Question: Can we honor Yahawah’s design by focusing on spiritual treasures instead of worldly gain? (Matthew 6:20)

Final Reflection – Choosing Purpose Over Pressure

Ecclesiastes 12:13“Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.”

Christmas as we know it is not biblical—it’s a materialistic trap built on pagan traditions and Babylon’s influence.

Key Takeaways for the Elect:

  1. Reject Idolatry. Focus on scripture, not rituals. (Isaiah 42:8)
  2. Avoid Debt Slavery. Live within means and prioritize spiritual riches. (Proverbs 22:7)
  3. Seek True Peace. Replace stressful traditions with prayer, fasting, and fellowship. (Philippians 4:7)

Bartie Musa Commentary: Wow the spending statistics of $957 billion spent on Christmas globally last year, almost $1 trillion worth of gifts is beyond fascinating. You should be able to gift your loved ones, but not at the cost of going into debt. Spend your money responsibly especially you brothers and sisters of the faith.

We didn’t spend any money on Christmas or any other pagan holiday. However you can still enjoy life and buy gifts for your loved ones, do everything within reason and order. Take care of your primary responsibilities (rent, food, etc.) before going into debt. What is the true cost of your Christmas? All praises to Yahawah bahasham Yahawashi for these interesting insights.
